First Of All – What Is Tonal?

Tonal is a workout mirror that provides challenging workouts in the privacy of your own home using modern innovative technology. It consists of an interactive touch screen and two electromagnetic pulleys that provide up to 200 lbs ( 90.7 kg). This state-of-the-art device is mounted on a wall and used for coach-led training sessions.

Tonal Workouts

Tonal works with three goals: 1. get lean, 2. build muscle, and 3. improve fitness. When you start your fitness journey with a smart home gym, select one of these goals, complete your strength training assessment and calibrate your digital weight.

1. Get Lean

The programs in the Get Lean category will get you healthily slim and fit, build muscle, and burn calories. They will get your heart rate up by doing high volumes of repetitions and short rest breaks. The programs complement each other with different intensities and rep ranges. They also grow harder as you go to improve body composition. To suit each fitness level, they are divided into 3 parts:

  • Beginner
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced

2. Build Muscle

Compound lifts, power-based exercises, dynamic weight modes, and even some volume are included in these programs to help you get stronger while also building functional muscle mass. Each program complements the one before and after by increasing intensity and rep range.

As you gain more muscle mass, programs become more and more difficult. Again they are designed to satisfy any fitness level:

  • Beginner
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced

3. Improve Fitness

If you want to get better at specific lifts, take a break from intense training, or focus on a specific sport, these programs are perfect. They’re designed to improve strength, balance, and flexibility for everyday functions and sports performance. For any fitness level:

  • Advanced
